In over two months, only 12 trucks managed to distribute food and water to North Gaza’s besieged residents, a UK-based charity revealed, highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis. Oxfam accused “Israel” of systematically obstructing aid, noting that of the 34 trucks approved for entry, the military blockade allowed only a fraction to reach desperate civilians.
“For three of these, after aid was delivered to schools sheltering displaced families, the sites were cleared and shelled within hours,” Oxfam stated. The charity, alongside other humanitarian organisations, has faced continuous barriers since October 6, when “Israel” intensified its siege on Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun.
“Thousands remain cut off with no access to food or water, and with aid trucks stopped at militarised zones, civilians cannot access critical supplies,” the statement added. Vulnerable families trapped in shelters and homes have reported total depletion of resources.
Since October 7, “Israel’s” ongoing military campaign in Gaza has claimed over 45,259 Palestinian lives, including 17,492 children and 11,979 women, leaving over 107,627 wounded. Civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, has been systematically targeted, worsening the humanitarian catastrophe.
The deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid has exacerbated the suffering of Gaza’s population, leaving countless families at risk of starvation amidst ongoing shelling and destruction.
