UN Demands Urgent Aid for Besieged Hospitals in Northern Gaza

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reiterated its urgent appeal for humanitarian aid to medical facilities in northern Gaza, where Israeli occupation forces continue to target hospitals and their surroundings.

Launched on Christmas Eve, the appeal focuses on delivering food, water, and critical medical supplies to alleviate the suffering in the besieged region. According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), only three ventilators are available for infants in intensive care in northern Gaza, underscoring the catastrophic shortage of medical resources.

The situation in hospitals such as Kamal Adwan, Al-Awda, and Indonesian has deteriorated dramatically due to ongoing Israeli shelling and the blockade, which puts the lives of patients, medical staff, and injured civilians at constant risk

The United Nations has called on the international community to intervene and pressure Israel to comply with international humanitarian law, ensuring the safe and immediate delivery of aid to northern Gaza.
