The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has raised a stark warning about the devastating impact of Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza, particularly on its children.
“Israel is killing a child every hour in Gaza,” the agency stated in a press release on Tuesday, citing UNICEF figures which report that 14,500 children have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war.
“There is no place for children to be safe. These are not mere statistics; they represent lives that have been brutally cut short,” UNRWA emphasised.
The agency condemned the killings as unjustifiable, pointing out that even the children who survive are left with deep physical and psychological scars. Deprived of education, Gaza’s children now spend their days sifting through the rubble of their destroyed homes and communities.
