Government Media: Israel’s Use of Explosive Robots to Commit War Crimes Against Civilians

The Government Media Office has condemned the Israeli occupation's use of explosive robots to target civilians and vital facilities, describing it as a clear war crime that reveals Israel’s relentless intent to kill and destroy without regard for international law.

The Government Media Office stressed that this criminal escalation represents a direct challenge to international conventions and laws. The office pointed out that, over the 15 months of genocidal actions against Gaza’s civilians, Israel has spared no effort in employing the most horrific means of killing and destruction, especially targeting innocent civilians.

Civil defence sources confirmed that the deployment of advanced military technology, including explosive robots, to attack critical infrastructure and hospitals constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, specifically the Geneva Conventions.

The targeted attacks on hospitals highlight the occupation’s strategy to deepen the humanitarian crisis and deprive the Palestinian people of their fundamental rights to life, safety, and medical care.

These acts of aggression have resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of civilians, including women and children, amidst the occupation’s disregard for Palestinian lives, while the United States continues to provide unwavering support, effectively giving a green light to these crimes.

The Government Media Office called on the international community, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to take immediate action and hold the Israeli leadership accountable for these war crimes. It further urged for the immediate cessation of these brutal practices.

In a recent attack, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Israeli forces blew up "Rbota" in front of Kamal Adwan Hospital, causing fragments to enter surgery departments and patient accommodation areas, resulting in serious injuries to Al-Hakim Hassan Dabos while he was on duty.

As of 26 December 2024, the death toll from the Israeli aggression on Gaza has reached 45,393 martyrs, with 107,940 injuries since the start of the war on 7 October 2023, according to the Ministry of Health’s latest data.
