Infant Dies of Extreme Cold in Gaza as Winter Crisis Deepens

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the tragic death of Juma’a Al-Batran, a 20-day-old infant, due to severe cold in central Gaza. The infant's twin sibling remains in critical condition, receiving intensive care at Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital.

This heartbreaking incident follows the recent deaths of four other newborns, aged between 4 and 21 days, who also succumbed to the freezing temperatures. The harsh winter has left families in makeshift shelters unable to protect their children from the bitter cold.

As conditions worsen, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to devastate the lives of its most vulnerable. The lack of proper shelter and heating has pushed many to the brink, with infants and children suffering the most.
