The dawn of 2025 brought new massacres to Gaza, as the Israeli army unleashed fresh attacks across the Strip. Since the early hours, 27 Palestinians have been martyred, including 12 in separate strikes throughout Gaza.
One of the deadliest attacks targeted a civilian house in Jabalia al-Balad, north of Gaza, where displaced families from the Badra, Abu Warda, and Tarush clans had sought refuge. Israeli airstrikes reduced the home to rubble, killing at least 15 people and injuring over 20 others, according to civil defence reports.
Ambulance and rescue teams are struggling to reach victims trapped under the wreckage due to relentless bombardment. Medical sources confirmed that many casualties remain buried or stranded on roads, inaccessible amidst the ongoing assault.
This massacre is a harrowing addition to the mounting toll of atrocities since October 7, 2023. Over 45,553 Palestinians have been killed, and 108,379 injured, as Gaza endures an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe under siege.
The New Year offers no respite for Gaza, where grief and loss remain daily realities, and the cries of the wounded echo unanswered amidst the ruins.
