Three Palestinian detainees begin their 19th year behind Israeli bars

Three Palestinian political detainees enter today their 19th year in Israeli jails, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS).

The three detainees identified as Abdullah Naji Barghish, from Jenin city and sentenced to 23 years; Mansour Shreim, from Tulkarm and sentenced to 14 life sentences and an additional 50 years; and Saleh Qenni, from Nablus, and sentenced to one life sentence.

All of the three detainees have been denied family visitation several times by the Israeli authorities as a punishment against them such as many other Palestinians held in Israeli jails.

The Israeli authorities are still incarcerating more than 5,000 Palestinian and Arab prisoners for resisting the occupation of their homeland. Many of these prisoners have been in prison for more than 25 years.
