Walid Daqqa's Wife: "The Prisoner Exchange Deal Is a Victory Achieved Through Blood and Sacrifices"

Walid Daqqa's wife praised the prisoner exchange deal, describing it as a "great victory" achieved through immense sacrifices and bloodshed. She emphasised the significance of the agreement, which marks a major step for Palestinian prisoners and their families. For her, this victory represents the ongoing resistance and struggles of Palestinian prisoners, especially those who have endured long years of imprisonment under Israeli occupation.

The agreement, in its third and final phase, is expected to result in the release of the bodies of Palestinian martyrs, a crucial act for families who have been unable to bury their loved ones with dignity. The first phase of the deal is set to begin on Sunday morning, offering hope for justice and reconciliation for the victims of this prolonged occupation.

Israel currently holds the bodies of 552 Palestinian martyrs, including 256 in the “cemeteries of numbers” and 296 in morgues, a practice resumed in 2015. Among them are 9 women and 55 children under the age of 18. Additionally, many bodies from Gaza are still held, although official figures on this matter remain unclear.
