Israeli forces spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced that the Nuseirat Corridor remains closed to Palestinians returning from southern to northern Gaza, citing Hamas’ violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The corridor will not reopen until the release of Israeli civilian hostage Orbel Yehud is secured.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that no movement to northern Gaza would be allowed until arrangements for Yehud’s release, initially expected on Saturday, are finalized.
Hamas confirmed Yehud is “alive and well,” with her release scheduled as part of a third prisoner exchange next Saturday.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas stated Israeli forces were to withdraw from the corridor and allow displaced Palestinians to return north, but this has not occurred.
The Nuseirat Corridor, a key military zone, remains a critical route for displaced Palestinians seeking to return to their northern homes.
