Claims Their Vehicles Moved Without Inspection, According to the forces Statement
The Israeli forces admitted on Tuesday to targeting Palestinians returning to northern Gaza under the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, claiming that their vehicles moved without undergoing inspection.
In a statement, the forces said it fired “to drive away vehicles that were moving toward northern Gaza without inspection in an area where passage was not authorized according to the agreement (not specified).”
It further claimed that “over the past 24 hours, the forces has worked to drive away suspects who posed a threat to the forces operating in various areas of the Gaza Strip.”
Despite repeated violations, the Israeli forces claimed full commitment to the agreement, stating its readiness for any scenario in the Strip.
On Monday evening, Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza reported that “a Palestinian girl was martyred, and three others were injured due to Israeli occupation shelling targeting displaced individuals returning to northern Gaza via Al-Rashid Street (west).”
This came after displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza began returning north.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s government media office reported that more than 300,000 displaced Palestinians had crossed to the north via Al-Rashid Street and Salah al-Din Street (east).
