Iranian Foreign Minister Meets Palestinian Resistance Leaders in Doha

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Palestinian resistance leaders in Doha on Thursday as part of his visit to Qatar, focusing on Gaza’s reconstruction and the challenges posed by Israel’s blockade. The meeting brought together senior Hamas officials, including Mohammed Darwish, head of the Palestinian Shura Consultative Council, and Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s deputy chief in Gaza.

Discussions centred on the ceasefire agreement and Israel’s continued attempts to obstruct humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in the besieged territory. Hamas leaders highlighted the urgent need for international support to rebuild Gaza and alleviate the suffering of its people.

Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, commending Gaza’s resilience in the face of Israeli aggression. He emphasised the significance of continued resistance and diplomatic efforts to secure Palestinian rights.

The Iranian minister also held talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, addressing regional developments, including Gaza and the broader situation in Palestine. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting stability in the region.

Qatar’s role in facilitating the ceasefire was praised, with both countries stressing the need for vigilance to ensure its implementation. Araghchi warned against Israel’s track record of violating agreements, urging continued efforts to hold it accountable for its actions.
