Leaders of Palestinian resistance factions have paid tribute to the head of Hamas’ military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, and other senior commanders killed by Israel.

On Thursday, Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed the loss of several senior members of its military council, including its chief of staff, Mohammed Deif, in battles against Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. Abu Obeida, the group’s spokesperson, also announced the death of Marwan Issa, the deputy military commander, along with Ghazi Abu Tama’a, responsible for combat operations, Raed Thabet, in charge of manpower and logistics, and Rafeh Salama, the Khan Younis brigade commander. Other fallen leaders included Ahmed Al-Ghandour, commander of the northern brigade, and Ayman Nofal, who led the central brigade.

Mohammed "Abu Khaled" Deif, who had survived multiple Israeli assassination attempts, played a central role in military planning. Across the Axis of Resistance, factions mourned Deif and his comrades, vowing to continue the struggle against Israeli occupation.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad expressed deep sorrow, describing Deif and his fellow commanders as pivotal figures in the fight for liberation. The group reaffirmed its commitment alongside Hamas and other factions to honour their sacrifices and continue resisting Zionist and American plans against Palestine.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hailed Deif as a symbol of strategic leadership and defiance, asserting that his death would only strengthen the Resistance. The Al-Nasser Salah Al-Din Brigades and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades also vowed to escalate their fight until Palestine is fully liberated.

Similarly, the Mujahideen Brigades and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) reaffirmed their determination to continue the struggle, stating that the blood of these martyrs would illuminate the path to victory.

Ansarallah’s Political Bureau in Yemen paid tribute to Deif and his comrades, declaring unwavering support for Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. The statement reaffirmed their commitment to standing with Palestine until its complete liberation.
