Rescue teams announced on Monday the retrieval of 20 bodies in Sheikh Zayed City, northern Gaza, following continuous Israeli bombardment of the area.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, had risen to 47,498, with 111,592 injured.
This increase followed the arrival of 11 more bodies at Gaza hospitals, including nine recovered from the rubble and two who succumbed to their injuries.
Israel’s retaliatory assault on Gaza has killed over 47,000 people, the majority of whom are civilians, including women and children, according to the latest figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The death toll continues to rise despite the halt in military operations, as more bodies are discovered beneath the debris.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that "many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the streets, where ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them."
