European Union Confirms That Gaza Is Part of the Future Palestinian State

A spokesperson for the European Union's foreign policy stated on Thursday that the Gaza Strip must be an essential part of the future Palestinian state, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to the two-state solution. The spokesperson added that the EU remains dedicated to this solution, believing it to be the only path to lasting peace for all parties.

The EU representative emphasized that Gaza is an integral part of the future Palestinian state, a position supported by European diplomacy. Earlier, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed that the two-state solution remains the only option for achieving security and peace for all parties in the region.

As the Israeli occupation continues escalating its aggression, the death toll of Palestinians in Gaza since the beginning of the assault on October 7, 2023, has reached 47,552 martyrs, with 111,629 wounded, according to Palestinian health authorities. Despite the ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and the Israeli entity on January 19, 2025, after more than 15 months of genocidal war waged by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains an unprecedented catastrophe.

The EU’s statements reaffirm the urgent need for a just resolution to the Palestinian cause, ensuring Palestinian rights and respecting the sovereignty of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
