Government Media Office in Gaza: The Occupation Violates the Humanitarian Protocol and Manipulates Aid

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated in a press conference that the Israeli occupation is stalling in implementing the humanitarian protocol within the ceasefire agreement, exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

It explained that the number of aid trucks entering Gaza since the agreement took effect has not exceeded 8,500 out of the expected 12,000. Most of these trucks carry secondary food items instead of essential supplies. Additionally, only 10% of the needed tents have been allowed in, and no mobile housing units have arrived, leaving hundreds of thousands of displaced people without proper shelter amid the harsh winter.

The office also noted that the occupation has reduced fuel entry to just 15 trucks per day instead of the agreed-upon 50, leading to the paralysis of hospitals and essential services. It has also blocked the entry of power generators, spare parts, reconstruction materials, and medical equipment while delaying the evacuation of the wounded. This delay has resulted in the deaths of 100 sick children and 40% of kidney patients.

The office warned of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of these violations, calling on mediators to pressure the occupation into complying with the agreement. It also urged the international community to take immediate action to hold a conference for the reconstruction of Gaza and to lift the siege that continues to worsen the suffering of its residents.
