Fifth Prisoner Exchange Between Resistance and Occupation

The Al-Qassam Brigades have begun preparations to hand over three Israeli captives as part of the fifth phase of the prisoner exchange agreement, while the Israeli army has threatened to prevent celebrations of the release of Palestinian prisoners in the occupied West Bank.

Red Cross teams have headed to Deir al-Balah to receive the Israeli captives, while the Israeli Prison Service is preparing to release several Palestinian detainees from Ketziot Prison. The Israeli army confirmed its air force's readiness to receive the returning captives.

Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that the released Israeli captives are Eliyahu Datson Sharbabi, Or Avraham Levi, and Ohad Ben Ami. The Netanyahu government has approved the list presented through mediators.

In previous exchanges, the resistance released 13 Israeli captives in return for 586 Palestinian prisoners, some of whom were deported abroad. Meanwhile, the Israeli government is attempting to hinder the next phase of the agreement.

Israeli forces raided the homes of Palestinian detainees set for release and issued warnings against celebrations. Among those freed today, 18 are serving life sentences, 54 have high sentences, and 111 are from Gaza.

Meanwhile, an Israeli delegation is heading to Doha to discuss the agreement’s implementation amid Israel’s delays in fulfilling humanitarian commitments, particularly the entry of reconstruction equipment and shelter materials. Additionally, Israel has conditioned its withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor on dismantling Hamas' control, threatening the entire agreement.
