Expected to Be Freed Today: Israeli Forces Raid Prisoners' Homes and Warn Their Families

In the early hours of Saturday, the Israeli occupation army carried out raids across various areas of the West Bank, storming the homes of several prisoners expected to be released today as part of the "Flood of the Free" deal and warning their families against celebrating their freedom.

Israeli forces raided the home of senior Hamas leader Jamal Al-Tawil in the Um Al-Sharayet neighborhood of Al-Bireh, warning his family against holding any celebrations.

His daughter, Bushra Al-Tawil, who was released in a previous batch, stated that Israeli soldiers threatened to arrest all family members if any festivities were held upon her father's release.

Additionally, the occupation forces stormed the town of Kobar, north of Ramallah, raiding the home of prisoner Shadi Fakhri Al-Barghouti’s family and issuing similar warnings against celebrations.

In Silwad, east of Ramallah, Israeli forces raided the homes of two prisoners set to be released today, Raafat Hamed and Atef Al-Salhi, and threatened their families with consequences should they celebrate.

Several other areas in the West Bank also witnessed Israeli incursions, though no arrests were reported.

As part of the fifth batch of the "Flood of the Free" deal, 183 Palestinian prisoners are expected to be freed today, including 18 sentenced to life imprisonment, 54 serving lengthy sentences, and 111 prisoners from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023.
