A total of 138 freed Palestinian prisoners arrived in the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening after being released by the Israeli occupation as part of the "Al-Ahrar Flood" prisoner exchange deal between the Palestinian resistance and Israel.
The released prisoners entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, east of Rafah in the southern part of the Strip, where thousands of Palestinians warmly welcomed them.
Earlier today, Israel released 183 Palestinian prisoners in the fifth batch of the "Al-Ahrar Flood" deal. Among them were 42 prisoners from the West Bank, three from Jerusalem, and 138 from Gaza, including 111 detainees arrested after October 7, 2023.
The freed prisoners were transported to Gaza in two buses under the supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross and taken to the "Gaza European Hospital" for medical examinations.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that seven freed prisoners were transferred to hospitals due to their deteriorating health conditions.
