Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has been subjected to a devastating war and siege, with Israel enforcing a deliberate starvation policy to break the will of its people. The blockade has cut off food, water, medicine, and humanitarian aid, pushing civilians to the brink of survival. Malnutrition, preventable deaths, and the destruction of essential infrastructure have turned Gaza into a humanitarian catastrophe, while the world looks away.
Israel’s strategy extends beyond military aggression—it is a calculated assault on life itself. Agricultural lands have been bulldozed, water wells destroyed, and farmers barred from working their fields. Even humanitarian aid is weaponised, arriving in amounts too small to make a difference. Families in northern Gaza, abandoned to their fate, survive on wild herbs and meagre rations, while children perish from hunger.
The tragic deaths of Yazan Al-Kafarna, Fayez Attaya, and countless others are not accidents but the direct result of a policy designed to starve an entire population into submission. The use of hunger as a weapon is a grave violation of international law, yet Israel acts with impunity, shielded by global silence.
Legal experts warn that this systematic deprivation amounts to genocide. Reports from the UN and human rights organisations confirm that starvation is being used as a tool of oppression. The world must act—not with empty statements, but with real pressure to stop this atrocity and hold those responsible accountable.
Despite the unimaginable suffering, the people of Gaza refuse to be broken. Their resilience in the face of this brutality is a testament to their unwavering spirit. Now, more than ever, they need global solidarity. The time to act is now.
