An investigation by the Associated Press (AP) reveals that Microsoft and OpenAI significantly expanded their collaboration with the Israeli military during its war on Gaza, contributing to catastrophic civilian casualties. The tech giants provided advanced cloud and AI services, enhancing Israel's targeting capabilities and leading to widespread destruction.  

By March 2024, the IDF's use of AI surged 200 times, with Microsoft offering discounts to secure military contracts. AI errors, such as mistranslations and misidentifications, resulted in accidental deaths, including the incorrect flagging of 1,000 high school students as militants.  

OpenAI's GPT-4, accessed via Microsoft Azure, played a key role in military operations, despite the company denying formal partnerships. Google also supplied AI services to the IDF, further implicating big tech in the conflict.  

Critics condemn the misuse of AI in warfare, warning of dangerous precedents. As debates over accountability grow, the revelations highlight the urgent need for transparency and regulation in the use of advanced technologies in conflicts.
