Israeli forces carried out extensive arrest operations across the West Bank on Thursday, detaining dozens of Palestinians, including children and former prisoners. The raids, spanning multiple cities and towns, reflect a sharp escalation in Israel’s campaign since the war in Gaza began in October 2023.
In Nablus, troops stormed neighbourhoods and refugee camps, seizing residents such as Omama Ma’rouf and Suhaib Nader Ahmad Khaled. Similar operations in Qalqilya, Hebron, Bethlehem, Salfit, and Tulkarm led to further arrests, affecting men, teenagers, and even children. Families reported soldiers searching homes aggressively, while in Bethlehem a small drone was also confiscated.
Local sources confirm that those detained include Alaa Shtaywi, Yazan Al-Fiyoumi, Nimer Al-Ateiri and his son Mohammad, among others. Many were taken from their homes or workplaces with little warning, leaving communities in fear and uncertainty.
These raids, part of a sustained pattern of Israeli military actions in the occupied West Bank, have deepened the daily hardships faced by Palestinian civilians. Beyond the immediate trauma of detention, families must contend with a climate of fear and restricted movement, further compounding the effects of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
