Israeli Forces Escalate Land Seizures, Forced Evictions and Raids Across Occupied West Bank

SAFA — Israeli occupation forces and settlers intensified their attacks across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, issuing new military orders to seize Palestinian land for settlement roads, demolishing commercial properties, forcing families from their homes, and carrying out widespread raids and arrests.

The escalation affected several Palestinian governorates, including Ramallah, Jenin, Hebron, Nablus, Bethlehem, Tubas, Tulkarem, and occupied Jerusalem, amid growing concerns over expanding Israeli settlement activity and the displacement of Palestinian communities.

New Military Orders Target Palestinian Land

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that Israeli authorities issued a military order targeting 26.5 dunams of Palestinian land belonging to the villages of Deir Nizam, Umm Safa, and Attara, northwest of Ramallah.

According to the commission, the land is designated for the construction of a so-called emergency road connecting the Israeli settlements of Ateret and Neve Tzuf. The military order is set to remain in effect until the end of 2028.

Two additional military orders target 11.205 dunams of Palestinian land in Qabatiya and Deir Abu Daif, in the Jenin governorate, for the construction of security roads around the settlements of Ganim and Kadim.

Israeli authorities resumed settlement activity at both sites in August 2026, more than two decades after evacuating them in 2005.

The new orders reflect the continued expansion of Israeli settlement infrastructure across the occupied West Bank, placing additional pressure on Palestinian landowners and communities.

Demolitions and Forced Evictions in Hebron

In the Hebron governorate, Israeli bulldozers began demolishing five commercial shops in the Haska area of Halhul, north of the city.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained 21 Palestinians during a large-scale raid on Dura, southwest of Hebron, including Al Jazeera correspondent Muntasir Nassar. The detainees were subsequently released.

In the village of al-Burj, south of Hebron, Israeli forces forcibly evacuated 15 members of the family of Abdul Jalil al-Talahmeh and converted their home into a military post.

The incident left the family displaced from its residence as Israeli troops took control of the property for military use.

In al-Eizariya, east of occupied Jerusalem, residents of three homes received orders requiring them to evacuate immediately ahead of planned demolitions.

Further north, Israeli forces ordered five Palestinian families in the Ras al-Ahmar area, southeast of Tubas, to temporarily leave their homes under the pretext of conducting military training exercises.

The evacuations added to the pressure facing Palestinian communities already affected by military restrictions, settlement expansion, and repeated displacement.

Israeli Settler Attacks Leave Palestinians Injured

Israeli settler assaults continued across several areas of the occupied West Bank, leaving Palestinians injured and causing damage to private property.

In Burqa, a 60-year-old Palestinian man suffered bruises after being beaten by Israeli settlers.

In Majdal Bani Fadil, south of Nablus, settlers set fire to two vehicles, causing property damage.

Two other Palestinians were injured in an attack near Bethlehem, while Israeli occupation forces detained a young Palestinian man in Kafr Dan, west of Jenin.

The incidents came amid a broader escalation in Israeli settler attacks targeting Palestinian residents, homes, vehicles, and agricultural property.

Military Raids and Restrictions Across Palestinian Towns

In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces stormed the town of Hizma, closed its entrances, ordered several shops to shut down, and fired stun grenades toward residents.

Israeli military raids also targeted towns in the Tulkarem governorate, where troops demolished a memorial.

In the village of al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, Israeli forces uprooted olive trees, inflicting further damage on Palestinian agricultural land and threatening farmers' livelihoods.

The raids, demolitions, and movement restrictions have intensified the difficulties facing Palestinian residents, particularly in communities already affected by settlement expansion and repeated Israeli military operations.

More Than 3,100 Israeli Attacks Documented in October

The scale of the escalation is reflected in figures released by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, which documented 3,133 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers across the occupied West Bank during October 2026.

Of those, 1,369 were carried out by Israeli settlers, representing a 111.6% increase compared with September.

The figures highlight the sharp rise in Israeli settler assaults alongside continuing military raids, arrests, demolitions, and restrictions on Palestinian movement.

Since October 2023, Israeli attacks across the occupied West Bank have killed more than 1,220 Palestinians, wounded approximately 13,350 others, and resulted in more than 26,000 arrests, according to the figures cited in the report.

The continuing escalation has heightened concerns over the safety of Palestinian communities as Israeli forces expand settlement infrastructure, seize land, demolish properties, and carry out military operations across the occupied territory.
