Hemaya Center for Human Rights (HCHR) demanded, in an urgent message sent on Monday to UN and international figures, not to ignore the facts on the ground, and the need to pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law and to stop all its settlement projects in the Palestinian territories, including the city of Jerusalem.
In the message, the Center called on the Israeli authorities to end its violations of the international law.
The Center also shed light on the Israeli authorities' approval of 4 new settlement projects in the West Bank, and work to approve building 9,000 settlement units in“ Atarot ”settlement, which will be built on the lands of Qalandia town in the north of Jerusalem on an area of about 600 dunums of Jerusalem International Airport.
( Qalandia) is an abandoned airport, which is the oldest airport in Palestine, as it was built in 1920, before it was closed in the second intifada in 2000.
The Center also referred to the UN decisions taken in this regard, especially Security Council Resolution 2334, which considers settlement illegal in all Palestinian lands.
