Palestinian citizen Abdel Nasser Walid Halawa (56 years), from Nablus city in the northern West Bank, was martyred on Friday, from being shot by the Israeli forces months ago.
Local sources reported that Halawa, who suffers from a hearing impairment, was hit by Israeli bullets while he was near Qalandia checkpoint, north Jerusalem, last August.
The Secretary of the Disabled Persons' Union in Nablus, Mu’awiyah Muna, told SAFA that the Israeli soldiers shot at Halawa at the time, after they asked him to stop, but he did not hear them, and he was subsequently transferred to a hospital inside the occupied interior for treatment.
He indicated that Halawa had been shot several times in the body, one of which caused paraplegia and complications.
Two weeks ago, he was returned to his home to complete his treatment in West Bank hospitals, but he passed away at dawn today.
