The Israeli municipality in Jerusalem forced a Jerusalemite family to forcibly demolish their two apartments in Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The Al-Khalis family reported that it began implementing the self-demolition decision, in order to avoid paying a new fine of 300,000 shekels, pointing out that the two apartments belong to the two brothers Muhammad and Mahmoud al-Khalis.
The Israeli municipality's vehicles demolished part of the two apartments about two months ago, during which the demolition machines were disrupted and the municipality did not complete it. After the withdrawal of the municipality's staff and the police from the place, the family was imposed a fine of 70,000 shekels, a "demolition fee," and it was imposed on them to complete it.
