Indonesia denies normalization with Israel

Indonesia, on Tuesday, denied reports issued by the Israeli media that it is conducting discussions at advanced stage to establish diplomatic relations with Israel.

The Jerusalem Post newspaper, Yesterday, quoted by diplomatic sources that Oman and Indonesia may be the next two countries that will establish diplomatic relations with Israel in the coming weeks.

"At the moment, there is no plan to establish relations with Israel, Teuku Faizasiah, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman, said.

He added, "we are bound by the constitution to support the Palestinians and liberate them from occupation."

"Discussions have developed with Indonesia, and the normalization relations with Israel may be announced before the US President Donald Trump leaves the White House on January 20,” The Jerusalem Post stated.

Teuku Faizasiah described this news as confusing and he said that none of our officials is holding any talks with the Israelis.
