European Protesters Demand Action as Gaza Death Toll Mounts

Tens of thousands took to the streets in The Hague and Brussels this weekend, condemning their governments’ complicity in Israel’s war on Gaza. Demonstrators, clad in red to symbolise a demand for decisive action, called for an immediate arms embargo and an end to political support for what they described as Israel’s genocidal campaign.

In the Netherlands, protesters accused the Dutch government of enabling atrocities through continued military exports, while in Belgium, marchers denounced leaders for failing to hold Israel accountable. The coordinated rallies highlighted growing public outrage across Europe over the war’s staggering toll, over 184,000 Palestinians killed, wounded, or missing since October, with starvation now weaponised as entire families perish from hunger.

The demonstrations coincided with global solidarity actions, as protesters urged Western powers to enforce a "red line" against Israel’s assault, now entering its ninth month with no ceasefire in sight.
