The World Health Organization has warned that Gaza’s health system is nearing total collapse, as Israel’s ongoing fuel blockade cripples hospital operations and essential medical care. For over 100 days, no fuel has been allowed into the besieged Strip, with even attempts to recover stored supplies blocked.
Of Gaza’s 36 hospitals, only 17 remain partially functional, and those are operating on dangerously limited fuel. Northern Gaza’s entire health network has been forced to shut down, while the few remaining facilities face the imminent threat of total failure, jeopardising ventilators, incubators, ambulances, and vaccine storage.
The WHO's latest warning comes as Israel’s assault continues to decimate infrastructure and block humanitarian routes. As homes burn and aid is withheld, Gaza’s health sector is being choked into silence, one generator, one life, at a time.
