Israel Turns West Bank into a Military Zone as Palestinians Face Mass Arrests and Daily Raids

Palestinians across the occupied West Bank are enduring one of the harshest Israeli clampdowns in recent memory, as military raids, arbitrary arrests, and closures grip towns and villages from Hebron to Jenin. Israeli forces have stormed homes in the dead of night, arresting children, elderly civilians, former prisoners and journalists, and turning family homes into military outposts.

Entire communities have been sealed off with iron gates and checkpoints, paralysing movement and cutting off access to schools, hospitals, and basic necessities. In Qalqilya, memorials to fallen Palestinians were destroyed; in Nablus, snipers were deployed across rooftops; in Hebron, children as young as 14 were dragged from their beds and detained.

This wave of repression comes amid heightened regional tensions, but for Palestinians, it is simply a continuation of daily life under occupation, where collective punishment is routine and justice remains out of reach. As silence prevails among Western governments, Palestinians are left to endure the escalating siege alone, trapped behind walls, checkpoints, and a deepening sense of abandonment.
