Gaza – In yet another brutal assault on desperate civilians, Israeli forces opened fire early Thursday on Palestinians gathered for humanitarian aid near Wadi Gaza, killing at least 16 and injuring around 100. They were not fighters, just starving people waiting for food.
Witnesses described scenes of chaos and horror as gunfire rained down on the crowd, echoing the now routine pattern of targeting those who queue for survival. Bags of flour were stained with blood; bodies lay beside empty sacks that were meant to sustain them, not become their final resting place.
Since October 2023, Gaza has been trapped in a relentless war that has killed more than 55,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children, and injured nearly 130,000. Many remain buried beneath rubble, unreachable as airstrikes continue and rescue teams are targeted or blocked.
The massacre near Wadi Gaza is not an exception, but a symptom of a deeper campaign — one that starves, displaces, and erases, all while the world watches. In Gaza today, to seek food is to risk death. And for the families left behind, survival has become its own tragedy.
