Settlers attack Palestinians' vehicles in Jenin

A number of settlers attacked citizens' vehicles on Jenin - Nablus Street, near the town of Silat al-Dhahr, south of Jenin, yesterday.

Local sources reported that a number of settlers threw stones and empty bottles at citizens' vehicles, near the town of Silat al-Dhahr, which led to smashing the windows of 4 vehicles.

Most of the attacks are carried out by settlers who are near the area leading to the evacuated Homesh settlement, north of Cyrenaica town, which is located on the sides of the road leading to Jenin.

Since the beginning of 2007, settlers return to the settlement on festive occasions, and established a movement called the Return to Homesh Movement, under the protection of Israeli army.

According to report issued by the media office of Hamas in the West Bank, the Israeli forces committed 2050 violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and their land in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem during last November.

The report counted 52 attacks committed by settlers, which varied between confiscating and leveling lands, building roads, and approving the building of settlement units.

The areas of Jerusalem, Hebron and Ramallah are considered the most vulnerable to Israeli violations, with (348, 276, 265) violations, respectively.
