The Israeli army spokesman announced, on Sunday, the arrest of the perpetrator of the Molotov cocktail operation who, yesterday evening, throw it towards a soldier east of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank.

“Intelligence efforts by the Shin Bet, in cooperation with a force from the Golani Brigade, managed to arrest the perpetrator,” he stated.

This comes after presenting a video, yesterday, showing a Palestinian youth throwing a Molotov cocktail towards a soldier from a very close distance, near a settlement to the west of Nablus.

According to the Israeli ambulance staffs, a Palestinian resident of Azzun village in Qalqilya arrived in his vehicle near Kedumim settlement, west of Nablus, and approached an armed soldier, lit a fire in front of him, and threw it towards him, wounding him and causing fire on the sidewalk.

The soldier did not fire for unknown reasons, and the attacker withdrew towards the village of Azzun.

The spokesman said that he is investigating the incident and the reasons for the Golani Brigade’s failure to defend himself.
