Gaza Starves as the World Watches in Silence

Gaza is being starved, methodically, mercilessly, and in full view of the world. Four months into a total Israeli blockade, the enclave is collapsing under the weight of famine. Hospitals are overwhelmed with children too weak to cry, parents are unable to feed their families, and bread has become a distant memory.

Across the Strip, doctors speak of bodies shrinking, immune systems failing, and entire families wasting away in silence. The scenes unfolding are not of scarcity, they are of deliberate deprivation. With all crossings sealed and aid denied since March, food is no longer a right in Gaza. It is a memory. It is resistance.

Human rights groups have long warned that Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war, a tactic that now defines daily life for over two million people. The most vulnerable, children, the elderly, the sick, are perishing first. But no one is truly spared.

Online, Palestinians and their allies are flooding social platforms with cries for help, not just for food, but for the world to finally see. Images of empty pots, of children collapsing in the streets, of mothers whispering prayers into silence, have become the testimony of a people under siege.

This is no natural disaster. This is engineered hunger, weaponised and sustained. And as Gaza starves, it is not only food that is absent. It is justice. It is accountability. And it is the world’s conscience.
