Gaza’s Elderly Left to Starve Amid Aid ‘Death Traps’

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has revealed that around 1,200 elderly Palestinians have died in just two months due to Israel’s starvation tactics, compounded by malnutrition and denial of medical care. The organisation warned that the humanitarian catastrophe gripping Gaza is spiralling out of control, with the elderly and children facing the gravest peril.

Figures from Gaza’s Ministry of Health paint a chilling picture: over 1,132 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,500 injured while desperately attempting to access food aid. Dozens remain missing. Aid distribution points, controlled by Israeli and American forces, are described by residents as “death traps,” where hunger meets lethal violence.

This crisis exposes the devastating human cost of policies that deliberately weaponise food and healthcare, stripping an entire population of dignity and survival while the world watches in silence.
