Famine Death Toll in Gaza Climbs to 154, Including 89 Children, as Starving Civilians Shot Dead

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that famine-related deaths have reached 154, including 89 children, as the siege continues to choke off essential aid. Seven more people died of hunger and malnutrition in the past 24 hours alone, highlighting the catastrophic scale of the crisis.

The World Food Programme has warned that a quarter of Gaza’s population is now living in famine-like conditions, while three-quarters face emergency levels of food insecurity. Action Against Hunger revealed that over 20,000 children have been hospitalised for acute malnutrition, with nearly 300,000 under the age of five in desperate need of nutritional treatment.

At the same time, Israeli forces killed at least 21 Palestinians today, including 13 people shot while queuing for aid in northern Gaza. Witnesses described scenes of horror, with live fire unleashed on starving civilians waiting for food and water.

Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned that time is running out to prevent further mass deaths, calling for immediate humanitarian corridors and unrestricted delivery of food and medicine to avert an even greater catastrophe.
