American Doctor Describes Gaza’s Children Collapsing from Hunger

An American paediatrician volunteering in Gaza has described harrowing scenes of children fainting from hunger and suffering injuries in their desperate search for food. He warned that most illnesses he treats are linked to starvation, compounded by trauma and the collapse of basic services.

Speaking from Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, he rejected attempts to deny the existence of famine, urging those sceptical to witness the devastation for themselves. His account comes as reports show children injured while trying to reach aid distribution points, underscoring the lethal consequences of blocked crossings and relentless bombardment.

With tens of thousands killed and injuries mounting daily, hunger is driving Gaza into a humanitarian abyss. Aid agencies report soaring malnutrition cases and rising deaths among children, while trucks loaded with food and medicine remain barred from entry.

As famine deepens and civilians endure starvation under siege, international inaction continues to prolong what rights groups have condemned as a deliberate, systematic assault on an entire population.
