Israel Blocks Lifeline Aid as Gaza Plunges Deeper Into Famine

Gaza’s starvation crisis is worsening as Israel continues to block more than 22,000 humanitarian aid trucks laden with food, medicine, and fuel from entering the besieged territory. The trucks, belonging largely to international and UN agencies, remain stranded at Gaza’s crossings while over 2.4 million people endure relentless hunger and deprivation.

Palestinian officials accuse Israel of deliberately weaponising starvation, describing the blockade as a calculated effort to deepen the humanitarian catastrophe. On Saturday, just 36 trucks were allowed through, far below the 600 daily shipments needed, many of which were looted amid the collapse of Gaza’s infrastructure under war and siege.

Famine has already claimed at least 175 lives, including 93 children, as aid convoys face total obstruction. With all border crossings sealed since March, Gaza is trapped in a tightening stranglehold, its residents surviving without the most basic necessities.

Calls are mounting for urgent international intervention to pressure Israel to lift the blockade and allow unimpeded aid deliveries. As each day passes without relief, Palestinians in Gaza are left to face death by hunger in a crisis the world has yet to halt.
