Gaza Journalists Killed Reach 232 Amid Escalating Attacks

The death toll of journalists in Gaza has risen to 232 since Israel launched its military assault on the enclave in October 2023. This staggering figure underscores what Palestinian officials describe as a deliberate campaign to silence media voices documenting the devastation.

Local authorities condemned the killings, urging international journalist unions and press organisations to break their silence and hold Israel accountable. They further accused Western governments, including the US, UK, Germany and France, of complicity in what they called crimes against humanity, citing their unwavering support for Israel’s actions.

The mounting toll on Gaza’s press corps reflects not only the relentless violence but also the dangerous conditions faced by those risking their lives to report the truth from within the besieged territory.
