Gaza’s Silent Siege: A Chronicle of Starvation and Sacrifice

For 673 days, the Gaza Strip has endured a suffocating blockade that has turned hunger into a weapon. Food, medicine and fuel have been deliberately withheld, plunging the population into a deepening humanitarian catastrophe. Malnutrition is now claiming lives daily, with children among the most affected, their bodies weakened and futures stolen before they can begin.

Amid the rubble and shattered streets, aid distribution has become a deadly gamble. Civilians queue for hours, only to be met with bombardment or live fire. Families are left with an impossible choice, to starve at home or risk death in search of food. In recent weeks, dozens have been killed while waiting for supplies, their only crime being hunger.

The siege has stripped Gaza of even the most basic hygiene products, leaving people unable to obtain soap, sanitary pads or clean water. Hospitals, already on the brink of collapse, are overwhelmed, with doctors powerless to save patients suffering from preventable conditions. Civil defence teams warn that without fuel for ambulances and rescue vehicles, the death toll will rise even faster.

Hunger, deprivation and the endless funerals are no longer by-products of war but deliberate tools of destruction. In Gaza, starvation is not an unintended tragedy, it is the weapon itself.
