Tunisia commented about the normalization relations between Morocco and Israel that it is not concerned in such relations, stressing that its position towards normalization with Israel will not be affected by the international changes.
"As Tunisia respects the sovereign positions of various countries, it affirms that its position is fixed and principled, and changes in the international arena will never affect it," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia quoted from Reuters.
The statement added that the position on normalization stems from the will of the Tunisian people, and expresses the feelings of solidarity and absolute support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The New York Times, on Monday, quoted from sources close to the US administration saying that Tunisia and the Sultanate of Oman might be among the countries that will normalize relations with Israel.
Tunisian General Labor Union issued a statement, on Tuesday, warning the authorities against embarking on normalization with Israel, and affirmed its categorical rejection of rapprochement with the Zionist enemy under any pretext, and stressed the importnce of the Palestinian issue to the Tunisian people.
"Reports are spreading about behind-the-scenes arrangements and undeclared meetings sponsored recently by France and the United States in order to push Tunisia to normalize relations with the Israel, similar to other Arab countries in order to exchange incentives and aid in the form of bribes to hit the national positions of Tunisia and force it to change its international and Arab policies," the statement said.
