Two Pakistani and Iranian officials confirmed their countries refusal to normalize relations with Israel.
“ Islamabad and Tehran refuse to recognize Israel,” the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, The Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Senator Mushahid Hussain, and the head of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign affairs committee, Abbas Golro, said.
This came in a symposium organized, last week, by Parliamentarians for Al Quds in cooperation with the Pakistani Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, under the title "Countries Experiences in Supporting the Palestinian issue."
Hussein stressed during his speech in the symposium that Islamabad's position is clear and consistent in refusing the recognition of Israel, even if the Arab regimes recognize it, highlighting that the Pakistani parliament has a strong commitment to support the Palestinian issue.
“The US President, Donald Trump, made wrong decisions against Palestine that need to be corrected, on top of which was the transfer of the US embassy to Jerusalem, confirming his country's condemnation of all Israeli measures against the Palestinian people,” he added.
He explained that there is a Pakistani popular consensus to support the Palestinian issue since the era of the founder of Pakistan, noting that his country agreed with the Arab League since its establishment to strive to achieve an independent Palestinian state.
The unjust Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip contributed to the increase of Coronavirus pandemic and the deterioration of the health and humanitarian situation, calling for action to help the Strip and put pressure on the occupation to lift the siege and allow the entry of the medical supplies.
Golrro said that his country's parliament is committed to support the Palestinian right to freedom and self-determination and establishing an independent Palestine with its capital Jerusalem, calling on the Organization of the Islamic Conference and Islamic parliaments to pay efforts and work to support the Palestinian rights in all parliamentary and international forums.
And he renewed the Iranian Parliament's condemnation of all agreements of normalization with Israel, stressing that the Arab and Islamic peoples reject these agreements and consider the Palestinian issue a central and unifying issue for the Arab and Islamic nation.
He expressed his country's parliament's readiness to cooperate with all the efforts being implemented by the parliaments in Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran to defend Palestinian rights and adopt laws that affirm that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine, indicating his country's commitment to communicate with the Islamic parliaments in order to work on adopting laws and legislation supporting Palestine.
Ahmed Bahr, the Acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, called on all Arab and Islamic parliaments to enact laws that criminalize all forms of normalization with Israeli, stressing that the interest of the Palestinian people and the interest of the Arab and Islamic nations lies in confronting normalization agreements with the occupation.
“The current stage requires real work and solidarity in order to isolate the Israeli occupation and besiege it regionally and internationally, calling for the acceleration of the formation of an Arab and Islamic bloc to pressure the normalized regimes to back down from that step,” Bahr stated.
"The time has come for the international community to be in harmony with the slogans of democracy and human rights that it raises, and to demonstrate its adherence to the principles and rules of international law and international decisions related to the Palestinian issue by condemning and confronting the aggressive policies of the occupation," he added.
He called on the Arab and Islamic parliaments to put pressure on their governments to mobilize the required support for the Palestinian issue, and to take strong and courageous positions to confront Trump Peace Plan and normalization, and confront the procedures and plans of the Israeli occupation and strengthen its boycott.
Bahr expressed his hope to form a pressing global opinion that do justice to the Palestinians from all human rights and international organizations and the whole people around the world to criminalize the occupation for its flagrant violations of humanitarian and international law in various international forums, appreciating the position of the Iranian and Pakistani parliament for their support to the Palestinian right and rejecting the annexation plan and Trump Peace Plan.
Muhammad Makram Balawi, the Director General of Parliamentarians forAl Quds, explained that the Israeli measures and violations of human rights in the West Bank must be confronted with practical steps and real actions from the international community.
"Israel is seeking to impose the situation in Jerusalem ,to control Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to separate the Palestinian areas in the West Bank, which makes it impossible to establish a Palestinian state,” he added.
