Italian Lawyers Push for Prosecution of Israeli War Crimes, Urge Nationwide Strike

A group of Italian lawyers has launched a series of legal actions at national, European, and international levels aimed at prosecuting those responsible for what they describe as the genocide of the Palestinian people. Their efforts target not only Israeli officials but also international allies, starting with Italy’s own government, which they accuse of complicity.

In a joint statement, the lawyers vowed to pursue accountability until condemnation and punishment are secured. They called for these legal steps to be matched by a united grassroots movement pressing four core demands: an immediate end to the genocide, swift prosecution of perpetrators, the end of all cooperation with Israel, and formal recognition of the State of Palestine.

The lawyers urged solidarity groups across Italy to intensify their activities, build public pressure, and coordinate towards a general strike that would culminate in a mass demonstration in Rome, sending what they hope will be an unmistakable message that Italy’s people reject the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
