Settlers Block Palestinians from Farming in Jordan Valley as Displacement Tactics Escalate

Israeli settlers in the northern Jordan Valley have once again prevented Palestinians from cultivating their agricultural land, in what local residents describe as a systematic effort to drive them from one of the West Bank’s most fertile regions.

Witnesses reported that settlers forced a farmer in the Khillet Khader area of al-Farisiyya to abandon his fields on Sunday as he prepared for the irrigation season. The act mirrors a growing pattern of harassment, which last year forced several families in the area to abandon their homes under sustained settler pressure.

Rights groups warn that these incidents are not isolated, but part of an orchestrated policy aimed at emptying the Jordan Valley of its Palestinian population. Residents say the combination of settler violence and restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities is gradually turning farming, a lifeline for the community, into an impossible task.
