Thirteen Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured on Saturday as Gaza marked its 701st day under relentless bombardment and siege. Among the dead were children and families struck while seeking aid or shelter in makeshift camps and residential homes. Local accounts described a series of attacks stretching from Khan Younis in the south to Gaza City in the north, leaving devastation in their wake.
In Khan Younis, gunfire near an aid distribution centre claimed three lives, while military fire on tents housing displaced families killed Khalil Abdul Salam Abu Mutlaq. Airstrikes in Gaza City’s Beach Camp market area levelled a home, killing five including a young girl. A child also lost their life when artillery struck near Sheikh Radwan Bridge, and in central Gaza six-year-old Khadija Mohammed Tamraz succumbed to wounds sustained in an earlier strike that had already killed her parents.
Hospitals continue to receive waves of casualties, with reports of dozens more wounded in recent hours. The toll of Israel’s offensive, supported by the United States, has now surpassed 64,000 dead since October 2023, with more than 160,000 injured, thousands missing, and widespread famine compounding the suffering. For many, Saturday’s killings underscored the unbroken cycle of violence and loss that has become Gaza’s daily reality.
