The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued an urgent appeal to King Abdullah II of Jordan to restore and reopen Jordanian field hospitals in Gaza City and Khan Younis, as the health system faces near-total collapse under Israeli bombardment and blockade.
The Ministry highlighted that the Gaza City facility has not admitted patients for months, while the Khan Younis hospital has been reduced to just 17 beds, despite thousands of patients overwhelming Nasser Medical Complex nearby. It stressed that every bed is desperately needed as hospitals remain overcrowded and depleted of medicines, supplies, and staff.
Expressing gratitude for Jordan’s longstanding support since the establishment of its first field hospital in 2009, the Ministry called the initiative a vital symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people. It voiced confidence that swift action would be taken to ease the suffering of civilians trapped under siege and genocide.
