Israel expects a security escalation in the West Bank

The Israeli army is getting ready for the possibility of deteriorating the security system in the West Bank, according to Israeli sources.

“Fear is now dual. We are afraid of implementing the settlers a reprisal attack against the Palestinians after the killing of one of their security personnel days ago in the West Bank,” said WALLA Hebrew website.

“We are also afraid of the Palestinians trying to stimulate the operations of Jerusalem and Rihan in which a settler killed and a policeman injured,” it added.

The Israeli army emphasized that there is no actual relation between Rihan operation in western Jenin and Jerusalem operation near Al-Aqsa mosque except that they are both close in time.

WALLA also pointed out that the Palestinian security forces show understanding of the state of readiness Israel promotes.

Gassan Alian, an Israeli executive officer of IDF ‘s Central Command, informed that he could manage his matters in the time of no security coordination.

Regarding the settlers, there are some serious concerns revolving around their implementation of an operation as an act of revenge for killing settler Ester Horgen in western Jenin days ago.
