In northern Gaza, the destruction of residential areas continues at an unprecedented pace, with hundreds of homes being demolished daily. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported that Israeli forces are deploying explosive-laden vehicles, each carrying roughly 100 tons of explosives, to obliterate entire neighbourhoods in Jabalia and Gaza City. Estimates suggest that around 300 homes are destroyed every day, leaving countless families without shelter amid worsening humanitarian conditions.
The scale and method of the destruction reflect a deliberate strategy to terrorise civilians and force displacement. Explosions are often timed for night or early morning, amplifying psychological trauma, while entire streets and apartment blocks are reduced to rubble. Beyond the immediate physical damage, the repeated demolitions deepen fear, insecurity, and despair among residents who have already endured years of blockade, famine, and war.
The Gaza Government Media Office confirmed that over the past three weeks, occupation forces detonated more than 80 explosive robots in populated areas, killing civilians, including women and children, and further destroying homes and essential infrastructure. Experts warn that the systematic targeting of civilian dwellings, coupled with the denial of basic needs, constitutes a direct tool for committing acts of genocide, as families are stripped of their homes, their security, and their means of survival.
