“The Towers Massacre”: Systematic Destruction of Homes in Gaza City

For more than a month, Gaza City has endured relentless Israeli bombardment targeting residential towers, homes, and displaced persons’ shelters. Early Saturday, airstrikes destroyed the Al-Noor Residential Tower and another building near the former Radio and Television headquarters in Tel al-Hawa, reflecting a broader campaign of destruction that has intensified in recent weeks.

Official Palestinian sources report that 1,600 residential buildings and 13,000 tents have been demolished, displacing over 350,000 residents from eastern neighborhoods to central and western Gaza. The assault, described as part of a systematic policy of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement, has left tens of thousands without homes, with hospitals and shelters overwhelmed and no safe zones remaining for civilians.

Civil defence authorities warn that the targeting of residential areas and schools amounts to a form of ethnic cleansing, as families are forced to flee toward the southern Strip under constant bombardment. The destruction has compounded Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, stripping civilians of homes, safety, and hope, while international action remains limited despite widespread warnings of war crimes and mass displacement.
