More than 10,000 children in Gaza City are suffering from severe acute malnutrition as the ongoing genocidal campaign devastates the Strip. Mass displacement and the destruction of essential services have left families struggling to survive, with children among the most vulnerable to disease and starvation.
Across Gaza, at least 26,000 children are in urgent need of nutritional treatment, with one in five affected in Gaza City alone. Centres providing life-saving care have been forced to close amid evacuation orders and intensified attacks, further cutting off access to treatment for thousands of malnourished children. Health authorities warn that conditions are worsening rapidly, compounding the human toll of a population already enduring years of relentless bombardment.
Since October 7, 2023, the genocidal assault has claimed over 64,900 lives and injured more than 165,000 people, the majority women and children. Famine and starvation have compounded the crisis, killing hundreds, including dozens of children, and leaving countless others in urgent need of medical care and nutrition.
