British Foreign Office Condemns Israel’s Actions in Gaza as ‘Morally Bankrupt’

Britain’s Foreign Secretary has delivered one of the strongest rebukes yet of Israel’s assault on Gaza, declaring its conduct “morally bankrupt” and “unacceptable.” He stressed that the recognition of Palestine represents an essential step towards acknowledging the rights long denied to its people.

The comments come as Israel faces growing diplomatic isolation, with governments and international bodies increasingly critical of the scale of destruction and the collective punishment inflicted on civilians. For months, the siege has turned Gaza into a wasteland of bombed homes, shattered hospitals, and families driven to the brink of famine.

Since last October, tens of thousands have been killed or wounded, most of them children and women, while many remain missing beneath the rubble. Entire neighbourhoods have been emptied, forcing hundreds of thousands into displacement. The Foreign Secretary’s words add to mounting international pressure for accountability, as Gaza’s devastation continues under the cover of Western support.
